Feminist Solidarity Forum - information session at IML Iași

During this session, topics related to the importance of the community in reducing domestic violence, the importance of prevention and the role of civil society in combating this phenomenon were addressed.
- Mary Collins, Secretary General of the European Women's Lobby spoke to the students about „Ways to stop violence from a European perspective” but also presented the „European Women's Lobby (EWL) manifesto for the 2024 European elections”.
- Paula-Elena Ciortan, Assistant Analyst at Romanian Women's Lobby, but also one of the two trainers in Romania certified by ESD Global in Empowerment through Self-Defence gave a short presentation on self-defence. It is an important and relevant topic in our society, and self-defence skills can be essential in various situations.
- Cătălina Mitel, Social Worker at Community Safety and Mediation Center Foundation spoke about „Domestic Violence - from prevention to intervention” and presented the existing services for victims in general and what services the Community Safety and Mediation Center Foundation offers in particular.
- Assistant Professor Dr. Mădălina Diac provided detailed information on sexual violence and „Forensic assessment of victims of domestic/sexual violence”.

The event took place within the project 'GLORIA - feminism and the strategic approach of gender equality', carried out with the financial support of Active Citizens Fund România, a program funded by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the SEE 2014-2021.
